#3 Food to Kick - This was a tough one for me! Bread today is not the same as Grandma's

I grew one of the most beautiful vegetable gardens you could imagine. Tomatoes. Peppers. Zucchini. Kale. We even baked our own bread.

I truly believed that a whole-foods, plant-focused lifestyle was the most nutritious way to fuel the human body.

Then I started digging into the research and I realized the story wasn't as simple as I'd been led to believe.

I've since learned that what we often call "healthy" isn't always the most nourishing choice for every person. That discovery completely changed the way I eat, and ultimately, it changed my health.

I had 12 diagnosed chronic diseases.

It took me years to connect what I was eating to what was happening in my body. My whole foods diet was causing my body to fight against itself. I had always believed a whole foods approach included whole wheat bread, whole wheat wraps, whole wheat was always chosen over white bleached whenever I had the choice.
